I am a superstar pet owner! I have a dog (a 10 year old chocolate lab with a magical fridge opening ability), and a cat (three years old and as black as a panther) who everyone for three streets in every direction believes belongs to them. They give me a huge amount of pleasure and I would be lost without them.
For years I have bored my friends with stories of their antics; of course, I have their photos stuck up above my desk at work. Once I ran out of people who would listen to my stories I got to thinking about how many people like me loved their pets and wanted the world to know!
I also thought about how much I wanted to look after them when they aren’t well – sharing tips and advice with people who would understand my concerns and help me with their own experiences.
Don’t get me wrong: my vet is great but sometimes you just need someone to give you the answers in a language you can really understand.
I want superstarpets.co.uk to be a place where people who love pets can come and brag about their pets to the world, meet other pet fanatics and learn more about how to look after their loved ones.
Superstarpets has its own resident vets who will be keeping an eye on the Petipedia and the forums to make sure that everything is safe and no advice can be harmful to pets. They will also be able to prescribe any medications you might need (certain medications will need a prescription from your vet) to ensure your pet goes on forever – my dog needs to take arthritis tablets and supplements every day.
We want you to have fun and to celebrate your unique friends. If you want, you can treat them to some new toys to replace the shredded catnip mouse or the fluffy dog toy that just couldn’t take another spin in the washing machine (the last one I had to send to fluffy toy heaven was a purple chicken!).
Most of all we are committed to giving all pets happy and healthy lives and look forward to hearing about your pets!
